To All of Tumblr…

My Tmobile contract is done in August (they removed the contracts) So I now have the ability to switch to any carrier and any phone. I prefer Androids but love that I can have so many cases with the iPhone.
I currently have the HTC Sensation with T-Mobile.
I really need help!

Which phone do you prefer and which phone do you guys think I should upgrade too and why?

mandiriot: funny you asked about if anyone had questions about NYC b.c i'm looking to move there within the next few years and i was wondering when i do decide to move there what is the best area to look for apartments??

lulz I guess I was convenient! :D Definitely go over the budget you would like to set for yourself. And I would definitely say to avoid living in Manhattan even upper Manhattan like Harlem (especially Harlem-bad crime) and Spanish Harlem, Morningside unless 1. You have a really well paying job & 2. You’ll be getting a room mate. If you can provide a high income at least 2,000+ for a studio/ 1bedroom then maybe you can look in the city.

I would say look for an apartment in Either Queens or Brooklyn. But areas that are close to the city. I honestly believe Queens is slightly cheaper than Brooklyn. Brooklyn is a very large borough and there’s a lot of diversity in the neighborhoods. From Park Slope, Coney Island, Williamsburg, & Sheepsheadbay (realy deep though-avoid Bay St addesses). But Queens is very beautiful and has the large malls, parks, and culture. Plus its about 15 minutes into Manhattan from an area like Sunnyside. If you’re looking in Queens avoid the Rockaways because that is a hell of a train ride! Plus while Rockaway Beach is there and all their beachfront properties for cheap, the neighborhoods are slums.

I know this will sound racist but if you’re white and new to the city you have to be careful going to places like The Bronx (I live here I know) and certain parts of Brooklyn like Brownsville and Bed Stuy (it’s getting better here but still). They can be dangerous because you will definitely look out of place. The North Bronx is nice but only if you have a car. I get looks all the time when going home. If you’re not there for the Parks in the North, or a Yankee Game don’t even bother. (it’s known as the Borough of the Hills!) And avoid Staten Island and Long Island at all costs because the storms rip them a new one. If someone suggests New Jersey go for like Jersey City it’s 20 minutes out and the taxes are lower as well. Rent is relatively affordable. It’ll be the transportation thats costly.

Try to have at least 1200 for a one bedroom for rent. Then think about Utilities such as Electricity and Gas. Plus transportation, a monthly metrocard is about $112.00, weekly $30.00. If you can secure that rent amount though a real estate agent can definitely help you.

My boyfriend and I are currently looking for an apartment and even for us its a bit difficult.

If you have any further questions about a specific area you’re thinking about let me know! I’ll give you my input :] I hope I helped in some kind of way.
